Cómo Pensar la Misión de la Iglesia Contemporánea, a los 40 Años del Pacto de Lausana, en el Contexto Urbano de las Ciudades Latino-Americanas.
(South African Theological Seminary Johannesburg, South Africa) Bedrossian, Ricardo M; Roldán, Alberto F.; Roldán, Alberto F.
On its 40th anniversary, the Pact of Lausanne's theology of the mission is relevant to the post modern reality of Latin American cities, which have experienced a growth in the number of believers but have had very low social impact. It is time for a change in the paradigm of the understanding of evangelization and in the interpretation of the Bible from a missional hermeneutical perspective. This perspective enables a deep understanding of the God of the mission and it causes churches to contextualize their lives and message in the culture that surrounds them, without putting the truths of the Gospel at risk. Each new missional church setup in urban centres, boosts the christian testimony in the city as a whole, and it is also a fertile field to develop a christological and socially responsible mission carried out by new disciples who will introduce christian values into their culture.
